As the brutal, unprovoked Russian assault on the people of Ukraine grinds on, Livingston Dems have sought a way to help.
In June, the party donated $500 to World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization led by Chef Jose Andres that has been providing one million meals a day to people in Ukraine. The party dedicated funds from its 50-50 raffles held at monthly meetings and at its annual Winans Dinner to the charity.
“Democrats stand with Ukraine because we support a people’s right to self-determination. Ukraine is a democracy under attack by an authoritarian regime that won’t stop with swallowing up just one neighbor. We are grateful for President Biden’s strong stand against Russian aggression and his leadership in uniting the world against it,” said Judy Daubenmier, chair of the Livingston County Democratic Party.
