Back to school seems a long way off, but Livingston Dems will be helping parents get ready by participating in the Livingston Educational Services Agency’s Backpacks for Kids program.

Livingston Dems are committed to donating 50 backpacks stuffed with school supplies in order to help needy families outfit their children for the beginning of the school year in the fall.

“Education is the foundation for success. That’s why Livingston Dems want to help families who are struggling get their children off to a good start,” said Judy Daubenmier, chair of Livingston Dems.

The party has purchased 50 backpacks for elementary, middle, and high school students and is accepting donations to fill them with school supplies. Supporters may either donate supplies from this wish list or may donate here and we will do the shopping.

Individuals also may donate a filled backpack if they choose.

Donations of supplies or checks may be dropped off at party headquarters, 8028 Grand River, Woodland Plaza Suite 7, Brighton, between noon and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, before July 29.
