Stabenow, Slotkin, Conlin Headline Winans Dinner

Livingston Dems are excited to announce that three outstanding Democratic leaders will speak at our 40th annual Winans Dinner: U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, and state Rep. Jennifer Conlin are all confirmed speakers at the party’s annual fundraiser.

“Michigan has many great leaders, but these three are at the top. We’re thrilled that our Winans Dinner guests will be able to hear from this trifecta of exceptional leadership,” said Judy Daubenmier, chair of the Livingston County Democratic Party. “We are making the theme of the evening, ‘Democrats Deliver!’ as we focus on the legislative accomplishments of our party leaders at the state and federal level. We want to remind people how Democrats are making a difference in people’s lives by securing reproductive freedom, reducing the cost of prescription drugs, making our communities safer, and more.”

The Winans Dinner, the party’s biggest event of the year, will take place on Friday, June 16, at Lakelands Golf and Country Club, 8760 Chilson Rd., Hamburg Township.

It kicks off with a social hour featuring a cash bar at 6 p.m., followed by a plated dinner at 7 p.m. with dessert. An online silent auction also will be conducted before and during the event, as well as a 50-50 raffle during the evening. The party also will be honoring three people for their public service and volunteerism.

Tickets for the event are $90 at the early bird rate, through June 2, and $100 after that. Student tickets are $25. To show extra support for the party, patron ads also are available at $20 per name. Tickets are available online here.

You also may send a check made out to Livingston County Democratic Party to party headquarters at 8028 Grand River, Woodland Plaza Suite 7, Brighton, MI 48114. Gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian meals are available with advanced noticed.

Attendees are encouraged to be vaccinated and boosted. Anyone feeling ill the day of the event is asked to please stay home to protect the health of others. “Democrats in Livingston County sometimes feel they are alone, so this event is a wonderful chance to be with other Democrats and enjoy conversation with like-minded people,” Daubenmier said.

Donations for the silent auction are still being sought. Items popular with bidders in the past include gift baskets, gift certificates to local businesses, a special service you perform, and handmade items. The silent auction is an important part of the party’s fundraising to support local candidates. Those with items to donate may email the party at livcodems@gmail.com. Advertising space is still available in the program. Contact the party at livcodems@gmail.com for rates.
