Livingston Dems To Hold Convention

Livingston County Democrats will gather on Saturday, Aug. 15, to hold their county convention.

The purpose of the convention is to elect two delegates to the credentials committee for the Michigan Democratic Party’s Aug. 29 nominating convention.

The Call to Convention has been sent to all eligible Democrats, including precinct delegates, members of the party for at least 30 days, and Democratic candidates for partisan office.

The registration link for the convention will be emailed out at noon on Aug. 13. Registration will close at 8 a.m. on Aug. 15.

Sign-in and the issuance of credentials will begin at 9 a.m. Coffee and donuts will be available.

Business of the convention also will include a review of the Aug. 4 primary results.

The convention will be at Re/MAX Auditorium, 6870 Grand River, between Brighton and Howell. Park in the back, use the rear entrance, and take the stairs or elevator down to the auditorium.

The party's Aug. 29 nominating convention will be at the Lansing Center in Lansing. Business will include nominating a running mater for gubernatorial nominee Jocelyn Benson and formally endorsing the candidates for statewide office endorsed in April at the endorsement convention.
