Livingston Dems to Hear Two Speakers on Solar Power

If you believe social media, solar power will gobble up all our farmland, pollute our water, drive down property values, and create unbearable noise. Fortunately, we have a better source than social media.

Peter Sinclair, a Midland videographer dedicated to environmental causes, will use videos to rebut the misinformation being spread in the county about solar power. He will speak at Livingston Dems’ monthly meeting on Thursday, March 23, at 7 p.m. on Zoom. His remarks and videos will be tailored to take apart the lies told by opponents of large-scale solar power projects here in Livingston County. Some of Peter's videos and information can be found on his website.

Also joining us will be Abby Clark, executive committee chair of the Sierra Club of Michigan. Abby will discuss possible solutions to the roadblocks to solar projects being put up by solar opponents throughout Michigan.

“Solar power is one of the cheapest sources of electricity available today. Its use is essential to meeting the goals needed to protect our planet from devastating climate changes. This is a great opportunity to learn from reliable sources about the benefits of solar power,” said Judy Daubenmier, chair of the Livingston County Democratic Party. The party’s regular business meeting will follow.
