Will Social Security run out of money? How can it be changed and protected?

Those are some of the issues that will be discussed at the August meeting of Livingston County Democrats.

Jaymie Petronzi, manager of the Social Security office in Flint for 12 years, will speak to the party at their Aug. 27 meeting.

Petronzi worked in various Social Security Administration locations throughout Michigan and Chicago before retiring in June 2024.

As a lifelong public servant, she is passionate about advocating for the preservation of Social Security and protecting this vital earned benefit program from ideological and fiscal attacks.

Petronzi will discuss the wage cap and how it works and ways that Social Security can be protected for future generations.

The meeting will be held at Re/MAX Platinum Auditorium, 6870 Grand River, between Brighton and Howell. Park in the back, use the rear entrance, and take the stairs or elevator down to the auditorium.

Social time will be at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. The party’s regular business meeting will follow the speaker.
