We're celebrating our nation's 250th birthday this July 4 and you can join in.

Walk with us in the Brighton 4th of July parade on Saturday, July 4!

We will meet on the side streets near the Brighton Education and Community Center, Main and Church Streets, at 9:30 a.m. The parade steps off at 10 a.m.

Please wear patriotic gear -- costumes and signs are encouraged! We will have flags to wave and candy to hand out to children. Feel free to bring candy because there will be many children along the route eager for a treat.

And look for our life-size replica of the Liberty Bell being constructed by Jenn Szatkowski of Unadilla Township!

Sign up here to receive more precise lineup instructions when the information is available.

Candidates Rob Hower for 22nd State Senate and Dan Pelchat for 49th State House also will be walking with us.

In the evening, Rob will be walking in the Fowlerville parade, too.

And if you would like a Livingston Dems' t-shirt to wear in the parade, a few are still available here to purchase at the office this week between noon and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

See you at the parade!
