Livingston County Democrats delivered 50 backpacks and many school supplies to the Livingston Educational Services Agency Tuesday to support its Backpacks for Kids program.
“While local Republicans are busy destroying a 50-year-old community tradition in Howell and devastate the bottom line of area farmers and downtown Howell businesses, Livingston Dems were helping a community agency make sure kids in Livingston County have the supplies they need to get off to a good start in school,” said Judy Daubenmier, chair of the Livingston County Democratic Party.
“This is the third straight year we have supported this program and our donations get bigger every year thanks to the generosity of our members.
“It’s a clear sign that one party supports the community and the other tears it apart. People can choose which one is closer to their values.”
Besides Backpacks for Kids, Livingston Dems also participated in the MDOT Adopt-a-Highway roadside cleanup in July, picking up trash along a two-mile stretch of M-59 in Oceola Township.
