Donald Trump won’t be present forever.

What happens when he’s out of office?

Democrats will need an agenda to get the nation back on track.

Sam Bagenstos, a former official in the Biden and Obama administrations, will speak at the Livingston Dems’ July meeting about the work that is going on now to prepare for a new presidential administration in 2029 -- both to rebuild from the destruction wrought by the Trump Administration and to make government work better than it did before.

Sam served in the Biden Administration as General Counsel of the Office of Management and Budget from Inauguration Day until June 2022.  He then served as General Counsel of the Department of Health and Human Services until December 2024.

During the Obama Administration, he was Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice.

Sam is a professor of law and public policy at the University of Michigan.

The meeting will be July 23 at 7 p.m. at Re/MAX Platinum Auditorium, 6870 Grand River, between Brighton and Howell. Park in the back, use the rear entrance, and take the stairs or elevator down to the auditorium.

Social time will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Please sign up here to let us know you are coming.

The party’s regular business meeting will follow.
