As the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available to Livingston County residents, many have questions and concerns.
To help address those concerns, the Livingston County Democrats will host Dr. Kimberly Farrell, chief executive officer of Central City Integrated Health; and Dr. Jasper Gill, chief medical officer of Central City Integrated Health at their Jan. 28 meeting.
“It is our hope that we can bring important information to our members and give them the opportunity to have questions answered that they might otherwise not have access to,” said LCDP Chair Judy Daubenmier. Central City Integrated Health, “has been serving the residents of Detroit and Wayne County since 1972, regarding whole-health services to all people, regardless of their situation,” according to their website.
The talk on the COVID vaccine will follow the LCDP’s county convention which begins at 7 p.m.
Participants in the convention will select delegates for the Feb. 20 statewide convention. Eligible voters include Michigan Democratic Party members, as of Dec. 29; precinct delegates, and 2020 partisan candidates for office. Precinct delegates and candidates whose membership has expired may renew their membership the day of the convention.
“It is so important that MDP members from Livingston County attend both our county and state conventions to ensure that we have important representation in the 8th Congressional District,” Daubenmier stated. “Livingston County worked incredibly hard to reelect Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin and to elect President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris. We need to use our voice in the 8th District to continue to elect strong Democrats,” Daubenmier concluded.
