That’s the date of Livingston Dems’ biggest event of the year – our 38th annual Winans event.
Two Democratic heroes are special invited guests for the event – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and 8th District Rep. Elissa Slotkin.
You won’t want to miss what they have to say about Michigan and national politics as we celebrate “Building the Road Ahead.”
You also will enjoy a music video performed by our own Billy Mack of the Juke Joint Johnnies with a special take on how Democrats will be building the road ahead.
We also will honor several key volunteers whose contributions to the community and the party have been crucial in the last year.
The 7 p.m. event will include an on-line program book. A donation of just $15 will let you show your support by having your name listed in the program as a Patron. Larger ads are available for candidates, businesses, or other supporters by contacting designer Barb Burns at artmaker.1941@gmail.com.
Our fabulous silent auction, always part of the Winans event, will be held on-line again this year. Selections will include a singing telegram, special occasion cake donated by Splashy Sweets, baskets featuring ethnic foods, jewelry, and lots more! There’s even a basket dedicated to new books featuring Sherlock Holmes and a basket with nighty-nite items for your toddler! If you are a winning bidder, pickup of the items at our office will be arranged.
Tickets for the Winans event are available through ActBlue here https://secure.actblue.com/donate/winans2021. Or you can stop by our office at 8028 Grand River, Woodland Plaza Suite 7, Brighton, between noon and 2 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and drop off a check.
Tickets are $75 per person before 5 p.m., May 21, and $85 after that. Student tickets are $25.
The Zoom link to the event will be emailed out the day of the event. Names of all attendees will be entered into a drawing for a special $100 prize. Must be present to win!
This event is a crucial way that we will prepare to help re-elect Governor Whitmer and all the outstanding statewide officials, as well as Representative Slotkin.
