The Blue Wave

Make no mistake, Michigan enjoyed a "Blue Wave" this November. Not only in the higher offices; Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State and Michigan Supreme Court, but also in ballot proposals that were truly "blue" wins.


In 2014, Livingston County was the 80th most-Republican county (out of 83). In 2018, we were 53rd. An improvement that was greater than many other "red" counties in the state.


"Brandon Dillon, chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party, said his first inkling of a blue wave came when he discovered how easy it was to organize a coordinated campaign across the state, especially in deep red areas like Livingston County."


No blood... but plenty of sweat, tears and worn out shoes

The canvassers ushered in and out of the office in Brighton, grabbing neighborhood assignments and sometimes a quick snack, before hitting the streets for miles of constituent conversations.
